To the lost

I. God
I have tried to direct you in love
but you took the errant path
which looked better until followed

II. Me
Miles and miles I backtracked
trying to find that source
that first moment I chose not to love

Deepening the presence

You must deepen your presence to others, says the Lord
and stop living on the surface of you

When all has crumbled

When all has crumbled to powder, turn to me, says the Lord
and I will show you:
From powder, clay
from clay, sculpture –
last breath gone
but fear not, for that was your breath
and now I give you mine

The waiting, II

No one and nothing can give you that still space of repose;
to find it, you must get up and look for it,
and when you look for it you must bleed to find it:
There is no map, no book of answers
no poem of enlightenment;
you must quit your house, journey, thirst, and fail:
Those willing to do so will receive
Those not willing to do so will wail and sigh,
for repose comes in failure
as failure best shows the nature of the Lord

Reminder for Self-Care Retreat: Hope and Rejuvenation: March 13

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/143822321435

To say these last twelve months have been challenging is not even the beginning.

But you can begin some layers of self-care.

Schedule in time for you.

Hope and Rejuvenation – that is the theme. Did your hope diminish or even die this past year? Are you weary and exhausted?

Come join us as we look at welcoming in a different kind of hope. It’s a new world, and we need a new hope – and that very well can look very different than before.

Come join us as we rejuvenate the heart.

Through meditation of the mind and body, we will be exploring these things – hope and rejuvenation. There will be breakout groups, POC and non-POC. There will be time for private reflection.

There will be time to breathe. To reconnect with the body.

Come on over. The cost is by donation only, thanks to my Patreon group which is supporting these endeavors – to effectively have no pay wall and make healing accessible to all.

Come on over.

Fondly,
Meisaan

Altars you despise

It is possible to worship before altars you despise:
victimhood
shame
fear –
a caution: They never lead to liberation

Be supple

Be supple and learn
be rigid and resist

What weakens the bond

When the bond is listening
any distraction from listening
weakens the bond

When the bond is surrender
any wavering from surrender
weakens the bond

Come on Retreat March 13: Hope and Rejuvenation

My self-care retreat registration is now OPEN!

The theme: Hope and rejuvenation as we approach the US anniversary of Covid.

It’s been a long road. Through guided meditations and embodied meditations (that is, deepening meditation in subtle, gentle body movement), we will be exploring hope. For a lot of us, our hope has been severely challenged. We will be exploring – what does a new, different hope look like in this new, different world? And as we do that, we will engage in an embodied practice focusing on rejuvenation.

If you are hope-weary, this is for you.
If you are body-weary, this is for you.
If you are spirit-weary, this is for you.

And if you want to go on this retreat with a dear friend, pass the invite along to them and you can go together. There will be small group discussions, and I intend to match people up with friends, if they wish. There will also be personal time for reflection, journaling, whatever you need.

When: March 13, 3 PM-5:30 PM CT
Cost: Donation (suggested cost: $40). No one will be turned away.
