I have a right to be heard, shouts the soul –
those were its words when I finally
unlocked the door

Take Courage – shout it loud!

I love the brevity of this piece. I have been reading Maya Angelou’s work lately and really appreciating concise powerful words. You truly captured this aesthetic. I also enjoy how true this piece is to life- As human beings we sometimes try to ignore the body, spirit or soul only to realize that they are all connected and cannot be isolated. Thank you for your words.

    • You’re so very welcome, Courtney – I’m glad that this piece connected with you. And you’ll find that a lot of my poems link body to mind to spirit…to psychology…to nature – I agree, they are all connected, and as we grow more whole we will see the world in a similar wholeness. Welcome aboard, glad to meet you.
