Walk the earth naked
plunge your face into the meat of life
no time for delicacies
no time

The kingdom of God is like a woman who moved into a new house. She left the largest room empty except for a single pebble, and when she was ready, she swept the pebble away.

I will lead you through the fire

The kingdom of heaven is like two women climbing a mountain. The first woman made it all the way up to the top; the second woman stumbled and fell the whole way. On the way back, they both died and stood before God. “My beloved daughters,” God said to them. The first woman exclaimed, “I climbed the summit! Let me in!” God wept and opened the door for her. Then God saw the second woman in the corner, cowering. When it was her turn, she couldn’t even crawl to God, so God went to her. “I stumbled and fell the whole way. I did not make it to the top,” she said. “There is no top,” God said, and wept and opened the door for her.

When the world stops spinning
and you and I meet at last
I, in deficit, without shoes and starving
You, abundant:
Finally, in stillness,
I accept what you’ve been trying to give

Healthy joy points back to God
unhealthy joy points back to anywhere else.
Stay awake: One turn into the other

Emptying yourself out
is the greatest invitation for Spirit
for nothing takes more space than the self

Healthy soil holds death
it won’t be healthy until it does
