When I finally did not want to walk alone
I could see all those who didn’t but did
and even more, those who didn’t but knew it not

Freedom comes when I realize that
my identity is not my identity and
God’s identity is not God’s identity

Troubled waters slowly calm
winds finally cease
stillness returns to itself

I am the only open door
leading to true transcendence –
Do not be fooled;
not even anger can take you there
Fear never leads to transcendence
so if you want transcendence
you must also put down fear

Wake up, whispers the Lord
begrudgingly, I do
Get out of bed, whispers the Lord
to this, I resist
until after the fifth time, I groan and acquiesce,
pull back the shades
and see the full moon stunningly waiting –

My lovely one, rest
Let not your heart be troubled
Dirt does nothing;
its power comes in its being,
its acceptance that it does nothing
its humility
its surrender

Lightly scented wafts of fragrance
delicate panting over me
Alleluia, you draw near
Alleluia, you pass within
Alleluia, you subsume
to total consummation

Lovingly, the birds sing
and a woodpecker taps somewhere, unseen
the lightening sky and rising sun comfort them, too
