You are not alone in living your life

You are not alone in living your life, says the Lord:
When you live this, anxiety will decrease,
when you live trusting that I am your partner, your helper,
and that I so very willingly rescue

Strength and fragility

All people carry strength and fragility, which many hold in disproportion:
To abjure your strength is to dwell in false smallness.
To abjure your weakness is to dwell in delusions of self-God.
Both are false.

Blessed are they who claim both their weakness and their strength –
How rare it is for humans to claim their full humanity!
When they do, they cast a million lights!

Momentary fear vs. constant fear

Momentary fear points me to God
constant fear points me away from God
and embeds me into self

Carry the beauty

Carry the beauty
within you, gestation
before you, the path
behind you, the trail
beside you, strewn stars
Carry the beauty

Anxiety can hit like a squall

Parable of the Two Gardeners

There once were two women who tried to grow a garden. The first woman held her seeds in her hand and said, “These will never grow.” Then she scattered the seeds and poured bleach on them. When the seeds didn’t grow, she exclaimed, “I knew they were worthless!” The second woman held her seeds in her hand and said, “Let me see if these will grow.” Then she prepared the soil, tilled it and gave nutrients. She carefully planted the seeds, watered and cared for them. In the silence, the seeds sprouted and produced in abundance.
