When in fury

Surrender your fury –
not that you extinguish it
but that you give it to me aflame
and I will brandish
watch me brandish
removing the you until it’s pure rage, no ego
only in my hands
holy, holy, holy

Why mindfulness?

Watch your every thought –
errant ones: Redirect them
Watch your body tightness –
obstructed: Release it
Watch your ego self –
untethered: Re-tether it

For thoughts lead to emotions
which lead to body and ego –
Stay alert! Handle gently at the source
and do not allow undesired thoughts to grow
for they will interweave: That is their nature

The prayer

As I prayed
my spirit turned inside out
and sat on the outside

Surrender takes conscious will

Surrender takes conscious will,
turned inside-out, wrung empty;
the distracted never yield

The end of you

Your ego will be the end of you
and your surrender will be the beginning

After the dolphins, during the sunpour

Well, this moment is ridiculously beautiful, I say to God
Remember this in ridiculous pain, God says to me
Touch eternal truth

Morning meditation prayer

I crawl out of bed to give you praise,
to worship the infinite God
who is my still-warm bed
who is the pillow, lovingly pressed
who is the carpet I just walked on
who is the chair that takes my weight
who is my breathing as I breathe in and out your praise
who is the sounds of praise, the words of praise
as well as the object of that praise, to which all praise is directed –
Everywhere God:
I slept on God to walk upon God, to sit upon God,
to breathe in God, using God to praise God
as infinity continues on

Parable of the countless open doors

There once was a woman who entered a mansion with countless rooms and countless open doors, and each door led into a place of light and fragrance. She walked up and down the endless corridors. Then, overwhelmed, she sat down in a hallway and cried, “My life is wretched!”

My ardor for you

I crave you in all
