especially in the dark of night
especially when, pupils dilated because we cannot see
because there is not one single pinprick;
These times precisely reveal the strength of praise!

for we do not need to see to praise
because praise itself is its own illumination
a dark illumination that moves one foot ahead of the other
a dark illumination that enables us to walk
