Embodied reminders of infinity

I used to despise the action of praying hands,
fingers stretched heavenward, the image of thin and fake piety, of thoughtlessness.
I used to refuse to do it.
Then Spirit showed me how to reclaim it.
Now, I feel the base of my thumbs resting upon the skin of my heart
Now, I feel my heartbeat through this body connection of the thumbs to chest
Now, I feel the vertical meridian stretching upward to infinity,
downward to infinity, the horizontal meridian of the
base of my thumbs stretching inward to infinity
my pinkies stretching outward to infinity,
so many embodied reminders of infinity
in praying hands
