May I receive you and give you,
and then, empty, return to receive you and give you:
That is all

In all that you do, lean toward love
God will take care of the rest

I return again to you, O God
you, who knows how to soothe
and do, every moment I allow

Throughout the day, I turned the bouquet of flowers on my desk this way and that,
gazing at a different curve of petal, a different spike of leaf:
So gently they remind me that beauty is not contained in a single gaze

Go naked into battle;
only then are you fully protected

With perfect timing you carry me home;
how long will it take before I learn
that you come at the precise moment of need;
there’s no hoarding or stockpiling,
which comes from fear of lack –
lack, which eternity can never be

Calm, calm, says the Lord, taking me in her arms
you have so much yet to learn
about that one true thing

Cast out your anchor and listen to me, says the Lord
or you will float around on the tides,
which will push you whatever they wish:
You will be swept along on their purpose
not mine
