Daring Courage

It takes courage to let go
of pre-determined endings

Wherever you go, I am.

Wherever you go, I am.
Wherever you breathe, I am your air
Wherever you rest, I am your lungs
Wherever you journey, I am your shoes
There is no apart:
I invite you to believe

Thought awareness. Listening awareness.

You can follow whatever thoughts you wish:
Some will lead to peace, some to destruction
some to wisdom, some to despair
At any point, you can change the thoughts you follow
so take note: Peaceful thoughts are not permanent
Turbulent thoughts are not permanent.
All is in your hands!
Be aware of the thoughts you’re looking for, and if
the thoughts you choose actually will fulfill that desire,
for the loudness of a thought does not indicate its health:
The softness of a thought does not indicate its worth:
Be alert. Listen.
And most importantly, listen to how you listen.
Watch yourself.
Observe.

Surprising challenge

It is hard for a clenched fist
to be surprised

From start to finish, love

From start to finish, love.
If there is a speck of love
engage that speck, encourage it to grow;
if it does not, then gently lay it down –
do not anger, do not shame it, do not press it on,
handle it with tender care:
From start to finish, love

There is no way around this.

Love requires life.
Love requires death.
There is no way around this.

Hide and peek

You are always just beneath the surface
until you peek above:
I gasp at your radiance

When you cry to me, I come to you

When you cry to me, I come to you:
I come to you through front doors
I come to you through back doors
I come to you through windows
I come to you through cracks
I come to you through holes in the electrical outlets
I penetrate all walls

The whispering god

You used to shout because I was nearly deaf
and as my ears acclimated
your voice got softer so that now
you lead me on with whispers

Role models

Little ball of gnats
lifting past the second story window
So tiny! So much risk!
