Wind storm

Maple tree, full crown of dry leaves
tossed wildly throughout the night
and even when sun comes, the wild tossing doesn’t stop
– so weary, so weary!

Deep lesson of the trees

Just in case we forget, they remind us every autumn:
The path of surrender is the path of beauty
that is when you glow through

We remember this truth and then we forget
and so, graciously, in twelve months they remind us again
