Never mind the mess

Never mind the mess;
what matters is resilience

Why hang on?

Dare to let go of your chains

Fragility

With a puff of air I will shatter
so you touch me and I burst into a thousand pieces;
you are not afraid of my fragility –
for the builder, brokenness is only the beginning

The forest glows with morning light

The forest glows with morning light
and the clearing calls me onward;
a part of me finds it hard to accept such beauty
but the part of me that hungers for radiance is larger

Special posting: Debut spoken word project

Dear Friends,

This just in! A spoken word collaboration between Luke Fischer and myself. He’s an electric guitarist (and specializes in many other things, as you will see), and he digs my poems, so we put them together in our first project.

It’s three-ish minutes, but you’ll get a feel for the style in the first few seconds.

Please let me know what you think! Also, feel free to share as you wish. If you have special intentions for it, please let us know – and may the generosity of the Spirit continue!

You can listen to My Sacrifice here.

Be well –

Meissan

Weights

Bring me closer:
all these weights, I throw them away
for even gold is heavy
and to get to you, I must fly

Preparation

Waves foam at our ankles like wisps of clouds:
the journey doesn’t start in the boat
it starts with the mending

Casting bombs

Give me your fury
and confusion
and pain;
cast unto me your bombs
for I am the only one you can throw them onto
and still be healed

Cast your prayers on the wind

Cast your prayers upon the wind
and once you let them go
let them go again within your heart
let them go
let them go
let them go

The day wails on like a red-faced baby

The day wails on like a red-faced baby;
I seek your arms
your quiet lull
