How hard it is to maintain stillness

How hard it is to maintain stillness
but that is where all clarity is found

Step in

Ignore anything that is not of me
and I will show you who you are;
wade deeper, my love
be not afraid

Do not assume you know what infinity is

Do not assume you know what infinity is –
Step into it!
Ingest it!
Turn into fire!

The opening “no”

“No” does not always close the door
if it is my “no,” says the Lord

Choose the one you want, God says

“Choose the one you want,” God says.
In each hand is a shining light.
I am mesmerized. I want them both.
“Look carefully,” God says, frowning. “They are not the same.”
“I don’t see the difference,” I say.
“One will die in your hand,” God says, “and the other will turn you into light. But
each will bring a great and different pain.”
My heart skips a beat. They look identical.
“How can I see past what I see?” I ask.
She smiles. “That is not the real question.”
“What is the real question?” I ask, frustrated.
“Ah-ha!” God’s eyebrows lift. “Keep going.”

Readiness for her

When we are no longer interested in usury
or even see the earth as an “it”
our spirits will be ready for hers

Show me something of the soul

“Show me something of the soul,” I say to God.
“Keep writing,” God says to me.

The glorious people

Titles are meaningless when it comes to the soul:
the glorious can be small
the small can be glorious

Face to face

Do not think that the mountaintop will reveal the face of God:
of course it will reveal the face of God
