To feel human

This morning, after my prayer time,
I put on a necklace.
I was surprised at how good it felt
so I selected a bracelet and put that on, too.
Then a couple rings.
Nothing extravagant, just something normal
in an age where nothing is
and in the midst of nobody seeing me
except my reflection in the mirror
with my necklace, bracelet, and rings
to feel human is a gift
