Facing the unknown is easier
when you stop grasping for control,
which, in face of the unknown,
it is a futile effort

I believe in jesus
who prioritized wholeness and healing
of skin and mind and womb
over political institutions
and the institution of the tabernacle;
I believe in the man
who came to preach the way of death as the way to life
and wasn’t afraid to walk that way
to give us a fine demonstration;
I don’t know if I believe in the resurrection
but perhaps that’s not as important as the message of the resurrection,
that love can die and still conquer all
for there are, sadly, great numbers of people
who believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God,
and yet are petrified to die,
who listen and read and kneel and profess
and yet have not heard his words

Other people may not understand your journey,
but your job is to not help people understand your journey –
your job is to live your journey.
– From a conversation with Juanita the prophetess
With freedom can come terror,
so know where to place your terror
or you will never have the courage to be free

The turbulent wave will always sink into the sea;
the mirror sea will always birth the turbulent wave

Spring rain, cold and clear
striking bone while striking flesh
all the world shivers

God tips us toward the divine center

Sometimes it can hurt to be who you are
and you might be tempted to hide in the comfort of who you are not –
but come out! For being who you are
is the first step to healing who you are;
you cannot heal an illusion

Give me the strength to face this day
give me the weakness to face this day
give me You to face this day
Amen.

Compassion is not designed for your comfort
you need to look again
