Those who have progressed
know just how much they need
and trust how much God will give

Strength does not come instantly
but after repeated tears of muscle fibers
and then the sets of repetitions
over many weeks and months:
This is also true for the spirit
for life is calling you to lift, not just once
but to make a habit of lifting:
Life is calling you to lift

and in the unknowing, unjudging
and in the unjudging, openness,
letting all things flow through
until I am flown through
and in this all-unknowing, flowing through,
peace

As I ease into the water, soak into me,
relieve my tension-holding;
let it ebb out so I can hear your voice
so I can hear mine
so I can breathe in silence,
holding onto nothing

You have no control over what thoughts knock on your door
but it is only you who opens
