trying to get everything done so that nothing falls through the cracks
and I’m so focused on this that you do
fall

But the air we use to fan the fire is God’s air
and the muscles we use to fan are God’s muscles
and the kindling we use to burn is God’s kindling
God using God to fan God

I. The desert is not afraid of scarcity
welcoming what is
II. The cactus does not say to the desert,
You deserve more rain!
III. The desert does not rely on reserves without,
but on with reserves within

Long journey over;
You had helped me all the way
just as you promised

Six birds flying low on the crimson horizon,
their silhouetted bodies a line against the canvas;
two cyclists ride by on the country road,
their bent-over bodies, one beside the other, another moving line;
thin clouds start to glow, the first heralds of the arrival
and a speck of cloud, like a freckle, turns radiant, not to be forgotten in the glory
