Mediocrity will never get you there

Cry out to the Lord
cry out from your depths
slog through the swamps
may every last fiber cry out

The expansive heart lets go

The expansive heart lets go;

One way out of wallowing

Yes, it’s muddy and sometimes your face is right in it
but don’t lose hold of your curiosity

Crashing waves, rising mist

Crashing waves, rising mist
rushing, dense freedom
wordless unity: heart beating beneath you, lungs pumping, legs propelling you both
through the glowing mist

I bathe in the softness of the moonlight
gentle rays of light caress my dampened skin;
my hair, wet, dangles, drips
I pause and turn, waiting for you

and sometimes I am putrid:
Keep watch! Do not be lulled by your images of me,
that first step to blindness

Jump out

On one side, the cliff:
On the other side, the abyss:
Go! Jump out! Die!
Then tell the world what you saw

and for this, the weak shatter
and for this, the strong return to me

Playing the martyr v. being a martyr

The main difference between them and you
is that they choose to fill their hearts with love
while you fill yours with resentment

The bittersweetness of moving forward

Deciding to move forward
is deciding to leave it behind
so do not be surprised should you grieve
while walking into the light
