Intertwined

When life takes a twist on the external path
look for an invitation on the internal path:
the invitation is usually there

“Grisly weather”

he said to her, climbing down the train stairs,
shocking me – why would he insult the rain so?
A soft mist soaking into the earth: yes
Cautious light, internal luminescence: yes
Shy, female touch: yes –
his footsteps sounded hard on the wet concrete as they walked away,
as I turned back to the damp fingerlings caressing me,
my hair, my face, my body
