God-usury

I
It is startlingly easy to forget you in the good times
and remember you in times of need;
protect my heart from usury
this poison that seeps within and radiates out

II
“I remember you only when I need you,” I say, hanging my head.
“Ah! But you remember me!” God says.
“I can work with that.”
