I am for you, God says to me.
I am for you, I say to God.

My cry to the feminine God

Place me at your breast and invite me to suck
that I may have you in me –
How I need you in me!

My job, God’s job

My job is to empty.
God’s job is to fill.

Compass gone, all is chaos

So deeply through the thicket,
Bramble catching on my clothes
compass gone, all is chaos:
Oh God, be my hope

The fallow years, II

Tell a farmer that the fallow years
are a waste of time,
and how the farmer will laugh

The fallow years, I

Even dirt gets exhausted when used,
even dirt needs replenishment, which the earth brings:
Nitrogen, through lightning
death
fallow years
time

Stay focused

If it is my loss, all is lost
if it is God’s loss, all is gained;

If it is my triumph, all is lost
if it is God’s triumph, all is gained;

To go from mine to God’s or God’s to mine,
this is but a turning:
Stay focused

Mind/body/spirit

When one is out of balance
the two can work to compensate;
when two are out of balance
the one is overwhelmed;
when three are out of balance,
distress
when three are in balance,
solidity

The most important of these: The spirit
the shakable foundation,
which can be reinforced
or weakened from neglect

Hardship means

God doesn’t necessarily take hardship away,
but turns it into a means, not the end
