Sadness, O sadness
the sun sags in the sky
tugged down by its own weight

Sometimes I need to risk to be with you
sometimes I need to lose to be with you
sometimes I need to die to be with you
and all is well
all is well
all is well
just to be with you

The moment you’re digging in your heels
is usually when the door opens

You wake me fifteen minutes before my alarm
to be with me in wholeness:
My skin tingles with presence
in the goodness of surrender,
of letting you touch me as you wish,
your sweetness awakening my mouth
from slumber, your hands exploring
vast highways and hidden valleys,
exploring all paths to my heart’s desire;
the most succulent food turns to ash
in the slightest graze of loving touch:
This is food
your sweetness is my life
your presence, deepest longing,
all fulfilled
all
all
all
