Halfway trust

If I am your refuge
then you can take down your walls
If I am your defender
then you can put away your sword
If I am your help
then you can put back your tools –
Why do you call me your God
and yet surround yourself with walls and
weapons and things in which you trust?
Why do you shout out loud that I will rescue
and yet tremble that I won’t?
