Accommodations

I say, “I don’t trust you,”
and God says, “No problem.”
I say, “I will not call you by any name,”
and God says, “Fine by me.”
I say, “I will not contort myself or deny myself
or lie to myself to be with you,”
and God says, “Wonderful.”
I say, “But I guess I’ll travel with you,”
and God smiles and says, “Let’s go.”
